My blood pressure reads high on the machines, but 2 doctors told me my blood pressure is normal. why? |
They used the manual blood pressure thing where you have to squeeze a pump to do it. EDUCATED answers only please. You don't say, but I assume you were taking your blood pressure on an automatic blood pressure machine. They are notorious for losing their calibration, which leads to inaccurate readings. I would go with the manual readings done in your doctors' office. What you might do is take your cuff in to the doctors' office and have it checked. I'm sure a nurse will be glad to do it for you without charge. If you have the manual, it probably has instructions for recalibrating the machine. Source(s): Health/Wellness Writer and Consultant well what was it then, and the squeeze pump monitors are just as good as the new ones, but if the cuff isnt on right the reading will be wrong nurse What was the reading on those machines? YOu forgot to post what your reading was. It is hard to offer advice if you don't post the numbers. Perhaps it is only slightly high or even normal for your age group. May be u have a normal BP for ur age.Measure ur BP in murcury spygnomanometer. If u r still in confuse go and do ECHO cardiogram and ECG... it will definately diagnose what u have the problem. Best of luck and be happy. |
