Blood pressure is really high? |
i just read the answers from the lady who has high blood pressure and i just come back from the doctors yesterday and they said my blood pressure was high. i have to go back in two weeks so they can check on it, i dont smoke and drink(really) and i train at a boxing gym 4 times a week, but i suffer with panic attacks and was really nervous and sweaty when i saw the doc yesterday, do you think that was why my blood pressure was high? That may well be the reason for you elevation in BP. A good doctor will know and appreciate this and arrange to repeat your BP check a number of times before considering any management. Also in a young person even if the BP remained raised he would check a 24 hour BP monitor trace. ( small monitor left on for 24 hours which automatically records BP every 30 minutes.) A lot of things can cause high blood pressure, and it is REALLY important to control it. Have it checked regularly and take your doctor's advice. You may be right that since you are nervous your blood pressure was high. That's why your doctor needs to see you again to find out whether your pressure is still high. I also have high blood pressure and since I'm on meds, I don't worry about it as long as I'm taking my meds. It could have been caused by your panic attack. Monitor it yourself for the two weeks untill you go back. 2 or 3 times a day. Hopefully you live close to where you can use those free machienes. Write it down and what time of day it is. That will help your doctor when you go back. It could have caused it , but make sure you keep an eye on it, and keep up the exercise coz it helps to keep blood pressure down. |
