Some people have high blood pressures but not hypertension .Can I have high blood sugars but not diabetes? There is a possibility of having high blood sugar content periodically without being diabetic... however, it is a tricky tricky thing to deal with. If you have a high sugar count, keep testing. Check for other signs and symptoms of diabetes. Visit your doctor regularly. It's very understandable that nobody wants to have diabetes.... but it is better to know than leave it untreated. I would recommend visiting some sites with diabetes symptoms for monitoring purposes.. although please don't just stick with that. Ensure you visit a doctor.. often if need be.. I have a *strong* family history of diabetes with effects ranging from organ failure to amputation. Sometimes, simply taking one pill, or a few other minor inconveniences can prevent these horrible effects.. Just be careful.. people care about you, and want to ensure that you will be safe. *hugs* Yes. If you have a high fasting glucose level ( 126 mg/dl or higher) test should be repeated to be sure the levels were high. The second time, diabetes is diagnosed. If the second time glucose is not so high, read below. If glucose level is between 111-125, a test of glucose tolerance curve is done. It is to rule out prediabetes or glucose tolerance impairment. If glucose is between 70 to 110, it is normal. Test should be asked next ordinary checkup. |
