Is my blood pressure normal or high? |
it's 113 over 71, is that normal or high for someone who is 21? The recommended ranges for blood pressure were updated not too long ago. The numbers being quoted here are outdated (or in some cases just plain wrong). 120/80 is now considered borderline/pre-hypertension. Anything BELOW 120/80 is normal--which is where you fall. As another responder noted, though, your blood pressure will vary depending on circumstances. If you want a great, easy, free way to have your blood pressure monitored regularly, donate blood to the Red Cross! I go every few months and before my donation they take my pressure and write it on the back of my donor card. That way I always have a listing with me of several recent blood pressure readings, and I can get a good sense of what my "typical" reading is. Also I'm quite used to having it taken now, so I don't get the anxiety spike that many people get just from being in a doctor's office. Here is more info on blood pressure and a chart of what the current range breakdowns are: http://www.webmd.com/content/article/96/... Normal It's just fine as long as you can still make poon tang regularly. it's normal. The desired blood pressure is less than 120 over less than 80. Congrats :-) a, ok 120/90 is the perfect bp to have, irregardless of age. perfectly normal...the average should not exceed 120 over 80 I wish my bloodpreassure would be like yours , wouldn't have to trake those pills . Your's is perfect !!! |
