Is it normal for Blood Pressure to elevate very high then be back to normal within a short amount of time?


My husband had his blood pressure taken by a nurse at work and it was 144/100. She checked it a couple of times on each arm and had the same result. After work he went straight to the Doctor and it was back down to 120/78. Why would this happen?

if he was angry or stressed out or nervous then it's possible to have it raised that quickly. any foods high in salts can do it too. or it's possible that the nurse didn't know what she was doing and took the reading wrong.
