I have a high heart rate and a normal blood pressure without causing the rate to go up, whats wrong with me? |
i was walking slowly threw walmart and i turned my head and i felt like i was falling inside and things went black for a split second. i didn't passout, but i did have to sit down for a minute. i checked my blood pressure(126/70) and my heart rate was 112. the machine said my bp was normal heart rate was high. i felt like i was walking on sponges and felt a little dizzy, is there something wrong with me, this is not the first time this has happened. Your heart rate is only mildlly elevated. It could have gone up from 'stress.' If people get dizzy when they turn their heads, it could be vertigo. If you're older, it could be more serious, like something wrong with your carotid arteries. Either way, it's always good to be active with your own health and seek your docs advice. I would definitely go see your doctor. I had an episode once when I was at Irish dance class where my heart started racing unexpectedly, and I got dizzy, broke out in a cold sweat, and almost passed out. It turned out I had a heart defect called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome that causes an arrhythmia. I don't think anybody is going to be able to diagnose you over the internet. So go to your doctor, have them do an EKG. If the EKG comes back normal, they can do a stress test to see if anything shows up, or have you wear a portable EKG monitor, where, if you were to have an episode like that again, you push a button and it records what your heart is doing. Good Luck, I hope everything turns out ok. |
