Is a blood pressure reading of 145/76 high?

yeah that's high, but it looks like your heart was pumping hard though when you took it. im guessing you were up walking around, sat down right away and took it instead of taking it at rest. sit down, relax and rest a few minutes before you take your blood pressure. and, blood pressure varies widely- you cant get an accurate reading by taking it just once. take it 3 or 4 times and average them out, that'll give you a better idea of what your actual pressure is. treatment is usually recommended if it is over 140/90. 120/80 or less is considered ideal. if you are overweight, lose some weight, if you have a lot of salt in your diet, cut back some, and excercise regularly- that'll help to lower it without drugs

145 is borderline, likely you have a fast pulse rate. 76 is great. Are you stressing about anything? Get the 145 down to 130 or lower.
Yes.stop eating the juck foods.eat more fruits and vegetables. cut off the fryed foods.no white flour products.if you use a lot of salt, cut down some. if your taking medicine. ask your doctor about changing it. that might be causing the high blood pressure, exercise. drink more water, good luck.I wish you well.
They say 120/80 is normal so I would think it slightly elevated, my advice ask your Dr
hello, the 76 is excellent but the 145 is high...get it down to at least 130 or lower....actually the new studies are suggesting that under 120 and under 80, which is what you have (76) is really the best for your pressure. blood pressure varies throughout the day, so do not be surpised if at times during the day (more than morning and evening) that it rises...the thing you need to worry about is if it stays high, then you need to see a doctor, but if it is only high once in a while, you do not need to worry....this could be caused by lack of excercise, too much sodium or nitrates from foods as well as STRESS! and anxiety...all this can make your pressure go up...just make sure you get your pressure checked out at least once a week to make sure that the 145 is not a steady thing...you should get that down to at least under 130 or much lower....anything under 120 is the best and anything under 80 is the best! good luck and stay healthy~
