Is a blood pressure of 137/90 considerably high?

I was told it was high by a nurse but I don't know whether they meant "very high" or just "a bit high".
I'm 29M, slim, active, 55bpm.

It's a bit high. Normal was once considered 120/80. Now they are trying to lower it to 110/70. You could have the startings of a high blood pressure problem, but if this is a just one time thing--it might have been a stressful day. Source(s): My mom's a nurse.

IT IS A BIT HIGH AND IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT IT PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE EATING, YOUR WEIGHT AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CONTROL YOU PRESSURE.
not real high. sometimes jest being in a doctors office will make your blood pressure rise. check it at the ones in grocery stores when your in a relaxed situation .
