Blood pressure reading of 160 over 100. Not always that high. Is that a real gauge for heart trouble?

My blood pressure varies, sometimes 120 over 80 but usually is higher than that, roughly around 140 over 90. I have monitored my blood pressure and I have never been diagnosed with high blood pressure. I met someone with a blood pressure of 180 over 100 and only 21 years of age. I had minears disease, fancy word for vertigo. My eyes were used for balance and because of that my neck gets very stiff. I keep thinking that my blood pressure has a lot to do with the fact that I am always tense around the neck.

Yes that could be dangerous, see you doctor and get it under control!
Many many things can cause an elevation in blood pressure.

Even eating can cause an elevation. A true test of it is to take an average of tests throughout the day. You must be at rest and feel relaxed.

If it is still high have a doc check you out.
Firstly your blood pressure has nothing to do with your neck or with vertigo. If you are worried have your blood pressure checked on a regular basis for a while. 120 over 80 is pretty good and normal.
Having a blood pressure of 140/90 is at the high end of normal and actually is considered borderline hypertension. A blood pressore of 180/100 is very high. Being only 21, if you continue to have high blood pressure, you will very likely develop heart disease at a young age.

There are other factors involved in developing heart disease as well. If you smoke or are overweight, both will contribute to hypertension and heart disease.

Additionally, its Meniere's disease, with one of those French accents over each of the first two 'e's.

Pain and stress can certainly contribute to high blood pressure readings, but again, regardless of the cause, having pressures that high will lead to trouble.

Follow-up with your doctor and decide upon a treatment plan. Likely you will need to be on medications.
You seem to have an elevated blood pressure that certainly merits seeing your family doctor. Your heart is probably not causing this, but it certainly can damage it. Whatever your age, see your doctor. Good luck!
A nurse.
Get to a doctor as soon as you can. It could be a problem. You need to get a five day pulse and pressure check.

It might be nothing serious or you could be a candidate for a stroke.

There is no way you should be consistently get blood pressure readings as high as 160 over 100. A diastolic (the lower) reading as high as 90 is too high if you are getting it consistently.

BP shouldn't make your neck hurt, but you might find yourself experiencing nosebleeds or other unexplained bleeding.

It definitely needs to be checked out.
