What Food & Drink can I have if I've got Gastric & High Blood Pressure? |
My mum has Gastric and High Blood Pressure and currently restricted to what she can have. The doctor is pressuring her cut her weight and the types of food she should be having. What I would like help on is what types of food she should be staying away from, and also what she should be consuming more of. Meat, Vegetables, Oils, Drinks etc. Please be specific if possible. She is 67 years old. Not too sure about the "gastric" bit - not enough detail really, but I presume it's something like an ulcer, in which case avoid all acidic foods like citrus fruits, vinegars and sauces, grill instead of frying, use vegetable oil if necessary rather than fats - but as for the BP problem - I've had high BP for years and not once have I ever been told that any kind of food is responsible - only smoking and alcohol are to be avoided ! ! ! Consult a good physician She should avoid- Spicy, fatty food, extra salt, smoking, drinking alcohol. She will be benefitted by- Blend diet, fruits & vegetables. Good luck for your Mom! Stay away from salty foods number one and secondly don't consume anything that will upset the stomach for instance acidic drinks like orange juice or tomato juice. Don't eat salsa or fried fatty foods and/or spicy food. Hope this helps!! |
