What are the best Yoga poses for high blood pressure?

1. Head Stand (Shirasasana)

Both to be learnt from an expert. Perform very gently, without jerks, to reach the final position.

3. Simple non-denominational meditation, which cosists of sitting in a comfortable, relaxed posture and just watching the breath as it goes in and out without controlling it.
By itself it will slow down in a couple of days. Seven to eight minutes of this twice a day brings down BP.
First of all, start with the poses you shouldn't do. Don't do poses which arch the back -- cobra, back bends, etc. These will often stimulate the kidneys and adrenalin -- contraindicated for high blood pressure.

The "folding" or calming poses will do the opposite. Forward bends - wide legged or single legged will calm all of you down -- including blood pressure.
