I`ve been rcently diagnosed with high blood pressure.I`ve been told to stay off of salt ..what about pepper? |
IS IT JUST AS BAD? You can have all the pepper you want!! At least they don't take it all!! lol I was a huge salt freak when I was told to stop, and I will admit it took me quite awhile to stop. I'll tell you though, there are a few things that I must salt and now I use Sea Salt. You can buy it table style or I like to buy it in a grinder. I can't tell the differance at all, I also use Mrs. Dash. Hope this helped some! No effect on blood pressure Pepper is ok to have with high blood pressure. Yes you should limit your salt intake. I've had hbp for like15 years. Take care of it and take your medicine. I quite taking it for a while and my heart paid for it in the end. It can make your heart work too hard. I'm 43 and my heart is that of a 54 year old because I didn't take care of it. pepper as far as i know has no adverse effects..... apart from it makes u sneeze..... which in turn could make your eyes pop out pepper is ok for hypertension but it is bad for your stomach!! i wouldn't just go all out on the pepper, it still contains like 40% nacl which is what you're trying to stay away from in the first place! First, with salt you need to have a sodium sensitivity, for that to truly help lower your pressure. Second, Black pepper has long been recognized as a carminitive, (a substance that helps prevent the formation of intestinal gas), a property likely due to its beneficial effect of stimulating hydrochloric acid production. In addition, black pepper has diaphoretic (promotes sweating), and diuretic (promotes urination) properties. Cayenne Pepper is supposed to have great cardio vascular benefits............ .. Black pepper has demonstrated impressive antioxidant and antibacterial effects--yet another way in which this wonderful seasoning promotes the health of the digestive tract. And not only does black pepper help you derive the most benefit from your food, the outer layer of the peppercorn stimulates the breakdown of fat cells, keeping you slim while giving you energy to burn. |
