Are high blood pressure and high cholesteral levels related in any way?

My parents are having a big argument about it and I just wanna find out the answer to shut them up.

NO. they are not related disease. Hypertension and Hypercholesterolemia, are only related in the increase risk they can cause to diseases like heart disease. They are also similiar in that diet can play a factor in both disease. many drug companies have combined the two medications for these disease in one pill. but that is just a marketing thing. Many people have both disease because of poor diet and exercise.
