Is homeopathy a cult?

It doesn't work, the beliefs are ridiculous and people get scammed out of billions of dollars every year. But millions of people are brainwashed into following it.

A religion if not a cult.

No, a cult is EXCLUSIVE. Anyone can participate in homeopathy.

idk?whats homeopathy?

No, they don't even have a uniform.

Of course not.
It's a manner of using plants (and some animal) to aid the body in resisting and fighting illnesses.
Like the vaccines.

no, it where you use natural product to cure aliments and most of the time it works.

No

yeah about as much as being a catholic is.

No it's not a cult. Its harmless herbal(usually) medicine which causes no side effect

No itis a lifestyle...and some people just do some of it...i guess it could be cult if they are overly obsessed...but then again anyhting overly done is.

Homeopathy is a way to treat wounds/injuries using herbs and other organic natural means. It is not a cult.

No..

Scientifically no one has been yet able to prove that homeopathy works. The most common justification for the miracles of homeopathy is "placebo". Loosely speaking, placebo effect is a term given to the apparent effect wherein a sufferer starts recovering just because he has been told he will.
James Randi a celebrated paranormal-investigator had put a prize money of 1million dollars for anyone who could prove that homeopathy worked. Recently a television channel tried an experiment to check whether homeopathy works or not, James Randi himself was called to. Unfortunately nobody could prove that homeopathy works.
Nonetheless, in some cases the miracles of homeopathy cannot simply be explained using the placebo effect.
The question is still open for the scientific community.

How do you think people cured ailments before western medicine? How do think tribes who have no access to meds have survives thousands of years?? Do you think God created herbs and plants with medicinal purposes for nothing, you sound ignorant and uneducated when you make comments like that. I use homeopathic medicine for anything I possibly can, trust me my body is way more in tune then yours.

I doubt if it would qualify as a cult. The world does however seem full of misguided individuals who irrationally attempt to use and believe that various non-conventional therapies deal with disease despite either lack of evidence or in many cases overwhelming evidence that they don't work.

Claim to cure anything without any effort from the patient, or that we actually know can't be cured and people will beat a path to your door and shower you with money, I really have never understood why!

Anyone who claims to enhance your appearance, your libido or your sexual prowess is on a winner. Classic examples are claims of instant weight loss without effort, and promises of enlargement of breasts and penis!

Herbalism, homeopathy, aromatherapy and acupuncture are the classic 4 so called alternatives. Some herbal remedies can be useful, as is the occasional aromatherapy oil, but both homeopathy and acupuncture rely on the massive placebo effect to have an influence.

Leopards do no change their spots on the body so do you?
What do you say Mr. Kalos in disguise or in a new avatar?

Yes, and their headquarters is the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital!

Why not write to them and ask them to justify their reasons for their existance seeing as numerous research studies have proven homeopathy to be completely ineffective?

They are wasting valuable NHS Resurces!

No.
Its not a religion either although followers of it can persue it with religious zeal.

Equally it could be postulated 'Is Atheism a Religion' as so many of it followers pursue this belief system with such evangelism and vigour.

Added: Contrary to popular belief, the main causes of extending longevity in the western world are
Better Sanitation

Better living conditions

Cleaner Air and Water

Improved nutrition.

Prior to western medicine the chineses manged to keep their population healthy and consistenly acheived extended lifespans amongst its population suing traditional chinese medicine.
People are dying in Africa for political reasons.
If they had clean water, adequate food, decent living conditions they would enjoy enhanced life spans too.

homeopathy is no more a cult than western medicine

Here we go again No it isn't. *shakes head*
