Is homeopathy classed as SCIENCE?

Is it been proved scientifically that it works?

Sources if you can

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_...

This article outlines the nature of scientific investigation for you: how it happens and what processes are involved. The scientific method is the basis for all scientific knowledge and is well worth reading about if you are interested. When subjected to scientific evaluation homeopathy has not been proved to have any efficacy.

I've added some relevant studies in the sources section as examples.

.

No it's not, but it works. I had a really bad cough last year, and after 6 months of different antibiotics, chest x-rays and other medication they couldnt tell me what was causing it or how to get it better. Then I tried a homeopathic remedy and it was gone in 3 days.
If that doesnt show people it works I dont know what will :)

The medical treatments that worked became medicine (such as aspirin).

The ones that didn't became pseudoscience- charlatans preying on the gullible.

Homoeopathy is one of these.
Any benefits from it are psychosomatic.

Not one of the many systematic controlled reviews of randomised controlled trials has ever shown any benefits from homoeopathy, it's all anecdotal.

What amuses me about science is, that at any given period of time we believe the science we know is correct. However, looking at past knowledge of science shows that what we think it true isn't always so.

Its one thing that annoys me about scientists, their need to be 'right' and how everything else is just, shall we say... poo?

every time someone suggests, through experiments, that homeopathy works, the results disappear once the group identity (treatment/placebo/control) is hidden from the staff in follow up experiments.

I sincerely hope not!

Read Bad Science by Ben Goldacre - this will give you information about the myth that is homeopathy!

I dread to think of the number of people conned out of their cash by these quacks.

No it most definitely is not.

Pseudoscience

No. Way.

science so far has not proved it has, no. But it does work, and there are explanations for why it works. Just as science long ago hadn't proved the earth was a sphere.
