What happens during a homeopathy consultation?

My little cousin Kelly (12 years old) has a little acne on her face, and has keratosis pilaris on her arms and thighs...

Her parents have scheduled an appointment for her to see a homeopath. During spring break, I've been staying at their house, and watching her fill out forms, and the homeopath seems to want to know a LOT of information...

She and I just slightly researched it, and we already know that the doctor will ask ALL types of questions.

She doesn't feel comfortable talking about some parts of her social life in front of her parents. Do you think he will ask her parents to leave? If not, then what do you think she should do?

Also, is there anything else she should know?

The scam artist will take your money and do nothing helpful for you. Take her to a dermatologist instead. Parents have been thrown in jail for taking their children to a homeopath instead of a doctor.

I agree with the first answerer. Homeopathy can only work as a placebo and part of that placebo is the bedside manner of the practitioner. Adults often appreciate a relaxed consultation where they are given plenty of time to talk all about themselves. If Kelly doesn't like that idea, she is likely to find such a consultation an ordeal. On the other hand, a lot of homeopaths are very nice people and hopefully will be sensitive to any discomfort from Kelly and not ask so many questions. It's not as if they need to know anything at all before doling out their useless remedies. It's just part of the ritual.
