Is hypnosis "mind control?"?

Is hypnosis "mind control?"?

No. Not everyone can be hypnotised, and you cannot compell them to do anything illegal or harmful under hypnosis. It's more a suggestive and deeply relaxed state, where people give up control, but do NOT do things against their will (rather, they hypnotist, especially stage hypnotists, act to manipulate the will and relax inhibitions through suggestion and a bit of trickery.)

It does not make you capable of doing things you could not do normally. It's not a "special state". There have been no empirical evidence of people becoming stronger under hypnosis or capable of extraordinary acts.

Only if you have multiple personality and consider that "controlling" yourself "mind control". A legitimate hypnotherapist would teach you how to hypnotize yourself, because s/he would be teaching you a technique to manage your own behavior, the goal of therapy.

Hello Dayton

No.

A hypnotic state is a natural state of mind, one in which we all enter several times a day.

Hypnosis is that state induced with full permission of the client.
