I have a question about Hypnosis and how it can affect the physical body?

I seen an old comic book where this body guard taught himself self hypnosis and he could fool his body into thinking he had super strength but he had to say a trigger word i think it was "Errol Flynn" and he could lift incredible amounts of weight, so i was wondering could a person fool his brain into think he had super strength and be able to lift incredible amounts of weight like in this comic book?

yes, this is possible in theory but I have never heard of this in practice.

Our bodies are capable of great feats which we subconsciously do not use. A great example of people showing tremendous strength during emergencies.

In fact, the berserker's used to eat mushrooms which unlocked this potential just before battle and were capable of amazing feats of strengths and endurance (they were unfortunately unable to tell friend from foe).

However, the reason why we do not unlock these strengths are a safety mechanism designed to protect our bodies from damage so by-passing the controls through either drugs or hypnosis would be extremely dangerous since we could cause damage to ourselves.

hypnosis, as a medical practitioner have no scientific explanation.
but in that case, it is only a comic book. and hypnosis is defined as mind control. mind is not brain, dude

Hello HellBent

The body can do many things that are not 'normal' & hypnosis can be used to create many physical outcomes - but not the impossible!

Sadhara

You probably could but your poor body will pay the price in broken bones and torn muscles and ligaments.
Don't do this at home folks.

No,that's pretty much impossible. You can try,it probably won't hurt but don't try to hypnotise yourself for flight
