Have you used hypnosis to quit smoking? |
I am interested to know about your personal experiences with the hypnosis, and your feelings about it. I'm more interested to know about personal experiences and perceptions of the actual therapy rather than just success or failure. My husband and I went to a hypnotist together to quit smoking. We get there and it is a big open room with the lights dim the Dr. talked to us for a little while and then he proceeded to hypnotize us. I really had wanted to quit so I was paying close attention to what he said even though I didn'tt feel like anything was really happening until.... he said your arm will slowly raise and you won't be able to put it down. I could see and feel everything and my arm started to raise it freaked me the hell out! And I guess I came out of the trance. I let him finish his thing but I was dying to leave. I was so freaked that when I did leave I lit a cigarette as soon as I walked out! I did not like the feeling of losing control over myself at all. It is a very unsettling experience. I do have to say though it probably would have worked if he wouldn't have used that arm thing lol. My dad did. I went to a hypnotist to try to stop smoking once. It cost me $40.00 and I lit up as soon as I got into my car in the carpark, without even thinking about it. It failed. I eventually gave up by using patches. I put them over my mouth. I could no longer get a cigarrette in there. i have a friend who quit smoking with the help of hypnosis and stopped for a full 6 months i have used it for other issues and found it Why pay money to somebody when all it takes is will power. I'm not personally a smoker but I know several people who have had great success with it I did try it once........ I didnt stop smoking and I woke up with Lip-stick on and a sore Ar$e......... y would u pay someone to do it when u could do it all by urself for nothing |
