Can a psychotherapist perform hypnosis?

can anyone tell me?

Yes there is no law against it in most states. In fact in most places any one can easily become a hypnotist and hypnotize people.

Of course a psychotherapist can perform hypnosis. I knew one who played cards, played the guitar and piano and rode a motorbike to. And during the summer she was even known to use a trampoline in her garden.

Ah, and another, she used 'bioenergetic massage' ~ at which she was better than 'excellent' ~ after my first session I went home and slept for a total of 16 hours.

Hypnosis, yes, and some can even cook too.

that other guy is right. those who can perform hypnosis are specially licensed and you will need to look specifically for a hypnotist

Hypnosis doesn't exist. The only hypnosis that works is to reduce pain.
