I just had Abdominal Totoal Hysterectomy (cut across, 16 inches?), I'm having problems, please help..?

I had surgery Tuesday 18th, out of hospital Friday 21st. No "lower" gas, and NO bowel movements since Monday 17th. I am in lots of pain and discomfort, 13 staples across my stomach, I can barely move, no bleeding- except only when I pee (maybe blood in bladder?) only happened three times so far. My incision keeps breaking a little and bleeding, just little parts of it, maybe pressure? Any idea if this is all normal, even the bowel part, I'm kind of freaking out a little.. Thanx for your time and answers.. and No there's no fever that I'm aware of, just a lot of pain from lower rib cage right down to my "little girl".

The other answer is correct but with no BM, your abdomen is going to enlarge from the unpassed stool, thus putting a strain on your incision line and the possibility of continued bleeding from this site or an opening in the suture line. On your discharge instructions there should have been a mention that you need to start a stool softener on the day of discharge. You need to get a stool softener now and start taking it. I would report the blood in your urine to your surgeon to see if this is expected. A dose of milk of magnesia might also get things moving but you need to take the stool softener daily until you are off the narcotic pain meds.

You should have had a bowel movement by now. If you can get colace or another stool softner. miralax may help as well. Due to the anestesia and narcotics your bowels have slowed. If you do this and have not gone by monday call the doctor

Yes, definitely take some Colace--300mg/day. Call your doctor on Monday if this hasn't resolved. I am worried that you are moving around too much, and that's why your incision has been bleeding. Don't lift anything heavier than 5 pounds, and don't walk stairs.

take some stool softeners. im surprised they let u leave the hosptal whthout pooping first. u will be sore for a while so just take it easy. call your doctor if you take the stool softeners and you dont poop within a day.

Often painkillers have constipation as an unpleasant side effect. For short term relief you can try colace (docusate), on Miralax. However, if you are in a lot of pain you should contact your surgeon. They can help you evaluate your symptoms and best advise you on where to go. The blood that appears to be in your urine is likely light vaginal bleeding and can be expected with this kind of procedure.
