Total Abdominal Hysterectomy Sublingual Oopherectomy?? Help? |
I'm 31 yrs old and going in on Tues. for this lovely surgery. I'll also be cut across the bikini line, again as 2 previous surgeries. I'm nervous as hell cause I'm affraid of the Mental impact this is going to have on me.. check my profile for more... I have no children, and the reason for this surg in the first place happened almost 17 yrs ago, and it's caused some serious PTSD, my therapist is leaving to Florida for a couple weeks, and has set me up with a female nurse at the clinic to help me both with physical and mental asspects of this surgery, but the more I hear the more it's freaking me out.. can anyone please be so kind to maybe give out some hints as to how to handle all this, or even some words of advice, wisdom.. anything, I'm just really closed in on this and I'm not really talking to anyone cause every one seems to want to know why I need this done at this stage of life, and children is a very touchy topic... and NO we can not adopt due to my mental illnesses.. Thanx I KNOW WHY.. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE SURG...I DO KNOW I"LL BE IN FULL MENOPAUSE. I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO DEAL WITH THE AFTER AFFECT OF SURGERY. Hey, you already know just about all you can know about this surgery. There will be about the same pain you dealt with before and you will have recovery time to deal with as well. You need to distract yourself now and just let the day come as it will. You will be okay. These surgeries are actually pretty common for the drs and it's okay to be nervous, but don't let it rule you. Don't let your conditions whisper BS in your ears about this. Hang in there, you are going to be fine. I'm sure of it. You have confused me. You are having surgery and don't know why?? DON'T DO IT THEN!!!! I never heard of anyone going insane from having surgery like this but it is common to suffer depression. You will need medications for estrogen, you will experience heat strokes and other things but check with your doctor about finding a support group. It might be necessary during the healing process. Good luck. |
