I had a hysterectomy nearly 5 weeks ago, when is it safe to start having sex again? |
the reason i am asking is because i am a bit worried if it will be painfull, and that it will not feel the same. my hysterectomy did not go as straight forward as it should have done. am very nervous about resuming our sexual side of our relationship. can anyone help me with some kind genuine advise please. i know am probably worrying about nothing, but would appreciate any advice from any women out there that has had this operation, and had the same concerns.would appreciate all that take the time to answer, but please kind genuine answers only. thanks to all who answer in advance. xxxxxxxx thanks peaches that was so kind of you, not. hellooooooo ok seriously, the doctors say by 6 weeks then the soreness should be gone, however some women heal quicker than others, and it depends on the indivigual,on how they feel, the reason i say this,is some women after having a hysterectomy, may mentally feel they dont want it for quite a while. You should have asked your doctor this...? when I had my hysterectomy, I had to wait for about five to six weeks, and after i went to my doctor for my followup exam. once i got the ok to resume sex, it was all good, in fact, I think it was better because I felt free and I didn't have to worry about getting pregnant, getting my period. once your body heals, it'll be just fine. you can e-mail me if you have any other questions. hi love, just remember your not supposed to do anything for 6 wks, wait untill you have been back to see the surgeon before you think about anything, it takes a few months for all your insides to heal 100%, , having said that, when you feel the time is rite, just take things slowley and gently, it will feel somewhat different at first, as long as you take it slow you will be fine, its a great feeling, no more periods, no more, more babies, and thank goodness no more tampax, you will be just fine, life begins after hysterectomy,xx When you have your 6 week follow-up appointment with your gynaecologist, you will be examined for healing and can ask all you need to know. |
