A friend of mine had to have a full hysterectomy? |
before she was forty, now just entering her forties, and always being slim, her abdomen has become rounded and swollen. Doctors have told her that there is no medical reason for this, but lack of oestrogen production is the probable cause. I am afraid that nothing applied topically will make any difference. If she either had bilateral oophorectomy or, despite conservation of the ovaries she developed complete ovarian failure anyway, creating a premature menopause, she should have been given HRT until about the time of the normal menopause, i.e. 50+. This would of course have replaced her own oestrogen. Breast cancer risks do not significantly exceed normal predicted levels until HRT is continued beyond the time of the normal menopause. yes i had my op done at 40 tell her to ask the doctor for H R T she can have it in oestrogen cream that is put up inside the Virgina twice a week using an applicator for 2 months then once a week it does help and stops the soreness that she will get in time due to a lack of oestrogen and if she don't use it she will end up getting thrush and Ive found since i had my op done i suffer really bad with I B S Ive got to be very careful what i eat and if i eat any chocolate i get really bad tempered and before i had my op i use to eat chocolate all the time but i cant touch it now ( tell her to ask the doctor to put her on premarin that is a good form of h r t and believe it or not it got that name because of what it is made of pregnant mares urine (pre ma rin) but it is very good I'm a little puzzled. Women who have a hysterectomy before menopause are supposed to be receiving hormone replacement. Don't know why she isn't. The hospital should have referred her for HRT. She needs to go to her GP and ask for information about going on HRT. It can take a few different brands before you find the right one that suits. |
