I'm 24 years old and had a hysterectomy last year!?

I have 2 kids (thank goodness) and found out after my second kid that I had endometriosis. I had the surgery when I was 21 and had it all burnt out, but it came back 6 months later. It effected my everyday life because of the pain, and my sex life with my husband. So 2 years later I had the hysterectomy. All I have left is my left overy. My doctor said I would not have any problem's after my 6 weeks of healing is over. I'm coming up on a year now and I'm having all kind's of problem's. I'm having per-menipause symptoms, ALOT of disscharge and I'm still having pain....up there. I'm looking for someone who has been through this that can share their experience with me and let me know what they are going through, so I can decide if I need to take this to the doctor or not.

Wow, that's alot to go through, I'm about to turn 25 and I can't imagine going through something like that at my age, you are very brave. What kind of hysterectomy did you have? My mom had one two years ago, and she didn't get cut open, they pulled her uterus out through her vagina, and left her ovaries in place. It took her about 4 months to get back to normal, I know she was tired alot, but she wasn't in a lot of pain after the first week though, but every woman is different, and every woman's body responds differently. It could be that you gave birth recently before the surgery and that is having an affect.
I'm not sure what else I can tell you, other then hang in there, and don't hesitate to call the doctor, you need to take care of your self.

Good Luck
and Blessings

If you are worried about it enough to ask this question, you should just talk to your Dr. If you are bleeding you could become anemic, you could have an infection. There are all sorts of things that you should just go to the Dr for

Well if I am reading this correctly, you already have had several surgeries due to the Endometriosis, and probably one of those was for an ovarain cyst. Because they left the one ovary in, you should still be releasing some hormones but no longer having your periods since they removed your Uterus. You can go to your doctor and have a blood test done on your hormones to find out if you are into Menopause and how much into it. And then you can determine if you want to take HRT (hormone replacement therapy) to ease the symptoms of Menopause. Unfortunately, the only HELP the Hysterectomy offers is NO MORE painfull periods or Ovarian Cysts. What you will get now is pain from scar tissues and adhession's. And if they put you on HRT, you will have to worry about your Endometriosis coming back. Because they cannot always remove every last bit of it and it only takes a little bit to start the process over again. And because they left the one ovary inside you, you might just experience on going problems. However, for the most part, it is rare to have Endometriosis come back after a Hysterectomy. But the pain, now the pain can go on and on forever. If you had a good doctor, he/she should have told you that. So you have choices, you can take care of the menopause symptoms. I reccommend Estradiol and Medroxyprogesterone (Progesterone) to keep the symptoms in check. The Progesterone helps to prevent the Endometriosis from coming back if you take HRT. I have a lot of experience because I have had to deal with all of this over the years, but I had a complete hysterectomy. And even now my Endometriosis is giving me problems. Email if you want.

I haven't made it that far, (Hysterectomy), but i always heard that if you have a hyse then that throws you into the change of life or otherwise known as Menopause. I am 46 and am going through the beginning of the big M and have period all the time, discharge, cramping, isn't it fun. Boy, god didn't think of that all when he decided what was what. Female gets it all. But, anyways, you could go the hormone therapy way or natural remedies. There is all different things to help us through the rough spots. Good Luck woman!
