Anybody have a partial hysterectomy at an early age? Early menopause? |
I had a partial hystorectomy at 24 because of cervical cancer, but still have my ovaries. The loss of uterine function can cause the ovaries to stop working quicker than they would have, had the person still been experiencing menstrual cycles. Also, many women can start experiencing a phase called "perimenopause" starting around age 40, until they experience their last menstrual period usually in their early 50's. Perimenopause is a slowdown in hormone production by the female body, which can cause many menopausal symptoms such as night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings, loss of memory, vaginal dryness. |
