Having a hysterectomy in 3 weeks!? |
I am having a hysterectomy in 3 weeks! I'm still very young 27years old but have health issues and tried everything before and hysterectomy is now my only solution. I never wanted kids and neither does my husband. My mum told me that once you lose your uterus, a man would not feel the same about you! My husband is very supportive of my surgery... Do i run the risk of losing him after my surgery Your mother comes from a generation when that was the old tale, and perhaps she had some "friends" with a bad experience they chose to blame on the operation. That was then, this is now. Your mum's generation wasn't much into sex either- which I dare say is not an issue between you and the husband. Being free of the pain and misery of female type problems, not to mention the whole pregnancy worry hanging over your head each month- can be very freeing for a woman, and the husband. You may well find the old sex life actually improves afterwards, and a healthy sex life never hurt any couple. If you have marriage issues prior to the surgery, they will remain afterwards, and surgery won't affect those one way or the other. This is one rare case where mum doesn't always know best. Well, not for your generation anyway. no but most men think having babies is a way to prove hes a man but if he really dont want kids i dont think you will have a problem Perhaps your mum is just assuming he thinks of men as "creators of life!" No, I don't think so. i dont think you will have a problem if you reali dont want to have children, but i think some men think having kids is a way to show off his masculinity. But that doesnt refer to all men. You say your husband is very supportive. This is good because if a man really loves and cares for his partner, he will love her no matter what, and respect and care for her. I dont think you have anything to worry about, if u love each other, he will be there for you and the chances of you losing him are very slim. Good luck with the surgery xx |
