Pre-Op partial hysterectomy. Need dvice about what to expect and best pain medicine to request.? |
I am having a hysterectomy SOON and becoming very apprehensive about it. Need feedback on what to expect post-op. Anyone with experience please help! The doctor will give medication that will work so dont worry about getting something that will not help the pain. As far as what to expect post-op it depends on the type of procedure you have if it is transvaginal then you will have some packing and probably a catherter but no incision. It's not a bad surgery so just relax dont get worked up over it. Also you Doctor can explain to you what to expect in fact he should before the procedure and he or she should answer any questions you have. Good luck!! You'll be fine. are you sure that you want to go through my sis did it then regretted it just think about it its a BIG step but anyway she used to drink loads of cranberry juice and layed of the wine or fags- if u smoke. just relax |

To answer your question i would need to know a couple of things, 1-why do you need the hysterectomy? do you have fibroids, dysfunctional bleeding, cancer? Each of these would have a different recov... It's very possible all they have to do is stim you to see how well your follicles react/mature and they can tell approximately how many eggs they'll get from you. The IVF part you can exp... Your mother comes from a generation when that was the old tale, and perhaps she had some "friends" with a bad experience they chose to blame on the operation. That was then, this is now.... You can talk to your gyn's office about that. But me, I was bleeding when I had my hysterectomy and my doctor said not a problem. I went in wearing a pad and came out with out.
