When you have a hysterectomy, what are common symptoms? |
When you have a hysterectomy, what are common symptoms? Do you mean, WHY do you get a hysterectomy? do you when before and the reason you have it, or after the surgery? Totally depends on the person for both. I had a prolapsed uterus at 18 that just refused to be tacked back up. After 3 surgeries to try to keep it in place it was decided to go ahead and have a hysterectomy. I also had my gallbladder out at the same time. I didn't have any problems after surgery except for a hospital error which I had to be put on a ventilator for 3 days. I also didn't have my ovaries out, so I haven't gone through menopause yet. They really are the same as having a c-section without the baby. Also depends on how you are going to be cut. There are different ways that they do it depending on your diagnosis. Just make sure you rest, take your pain meds on schedule, no lifting, pulling or straining until you MD ok's it, oh, and rest! It's really not as bad as some folks say. I had mine in '05. And I don't miss anything> Good luck! I had a hysterectomy back when I was in my 30's , I had no side affects at all. I did have a few weeks of pain from scar tissue stretching, thats all. |
