Hysterectomy/bladder suspension/hernia repair operation and bladder not working? |
thank you for all your responses and let me explain a little more--the operation was 3 weeks ago and the nurse comes in twice a day to empty the cathetar. the bladder is releasing a little fluid but not fully emptying the bladder. we know its just a matter of time and it will come back and work properly. of course having a cathetar inserted makes the bladder lazy and of course it will take time for the muscles to start working again. one thing i will tell you is, there is a wives tale to drink a glass of beer and the bladder will work faster (doesn't happen) there is a wives tale to drink a glass of wine (doesn't work) holding heat or cold on the lower stomach makes the bladder work (doesn't work) drinking lots of fluid helps but doesn't make the bladder empty fully so-- the bladder is like a man, it works when it wants to and as hard as it wants too. time will be the healer and thanks for all your advice/ And you talk about my questions ?? only time will help |
