Hysterectomy...possibly burst my stiches on the inside...?? |
just had abdominal hysterectomy five days ago - sneezed very hard today and felt a sudden rush of warmth and i dont know how else to describe it except a bursting sensation.... i have 2 sets of stiches one on the outside and one on the inside....the outside is fine, how would i know if i burst them and what will happen if i did? i will call the doc but its after office hours and there is no one on call, thanks for your input If they burst than there would be new bruising, the abdomenal pain would increase and the abdomin would be rigid. When I had mine last year I got a nasty cough and I was fine, keep a pillow against your abdomen when you know your going to sneeze or cough to cushion the blow. Contact your doc tomorrow if you are still concerned. If you have any other changes that are not considered routine in your discharge plan than go to the ER tonight. Best of luck. If you burst your stitches, you would know for sure!! it is possible that you burst internal stitches. i think you should go to the e.r. too. god forbid, you are bleeding internally. don't fool around. |
