Medical...woman who has had a complete hysterectomy?

she is now close to 60 years of age...says she has not had sex for four years...and just the other day she had sex with a guy whose penis was very big...she said it was very uncomfortable but she also enjoyed it....however, now she is hemorhaging inside...what should she do? will it heal on its own..or should she see a physician...she is very embarrassed about this...especially because this is the first time since she has had sex for four years....

It all depends on how heavy the bleeding is. If the bleeding is light, she probably had small tears in the vagina and these will heal on their own. Postmenopausal women not on hormone replacement therapy get atrophy of the vagina- it shortens and gets dry. If she is bleeding heavily with clots it could be that she sustained a laceration of the vaginal wall. If the bleeding is heavy and not slowing down she should see a doctor immediately. She should realize that doctors see this type of problem frequently. Tell her she should not feel embarrassed and get it checked out.

sounds like she has severe atrophy a complete hysterectomy leaves your inside lining very thin ...i know form experience..it hurts even with a small penis ..it also bleeds. have her look at genitals with a mirror..I bet her vaginal lips are thin and small and shiny. they should be thick and wrinkly .she should try the vaginal estrogen pills, they do not absorb like the creams and are less risk for blood clotss... twice a week..she will be back to normal in no time...but she need to see a GYN for the RX...

this is due to dryness from lack of estrogen. if she is going to become sexually active now, she should see her doctor and get an estrogen cream. this will prevent any dryness, bleeding, and pain during sex.
