Is it possible for sperm to get through to fertilise an egg if you have had a hysterectomy but still overies? hysterectomies are 99.7 % effective. If a female has had her uterus removed, there is no chance a baby will be born from that female鈥檚 body. There is, however, a minute chance that during the ovulation process, the egg will be released and fertilized by a sperm. This results in a 鈥減regnancy鈥?that will eventually be dissolved into the woman鈥檚 body and never detected. Nothing it a 100% and doctors will tell you this at your consultation, so yes it is possible very unlikely though. I have heard of such things, but its really rare.
