I recently had a vaginal hysterectomy to remove my uterus which was believed have Adenomyosis. My doctor said I should feel an immediate relief from the chronic pelvic pain I had been having for the last year, unfortunately the pain is worse now than before. I also was told that I should have very minimal, watered down bloody spotting and actually had what I would liken to a heavy period for the last two weeks. That subsided a few days ago and then all of the sudden I had a gush of blood and the passing of what looked like a blood clot and my pain became even more intense. I am also experiencing very pain ful bowel movements along with all the rest of this. Can anyone help me try to figure out what is going on? I see my doctor in a couple of days, however, I would like any help I can get? Thanks.
Definitely keep your appointment and discuss this with the surgeon when you see him. If you can get in sooner, all the better. By virtue of removal of the uterus itself, you should be free from the horrendous deep cramping of adenomyosis; normal post-op pain is understandable, but you should be feeling better by now. The bleeding also concerns me. You should not experience heavy bleeding with clots and painful GI problems 2-3 weeks out from the hyst. One possibility that comes to mind is that you have untreated Endometriosis as well, which has been stimulated for whatever reason and is causing your pain, but that is a stretch and wouldn't cause some of the other symptoms you are having. Wish I had a better answer for you...feel better and hang in there. If your doc isn't helping, find one who will.I had a vaginal hysterectomy and you will experience bleeding and possible clots. All your insides were pushed around during surgery. I had painful bowels as well. I also found that if you do to much walking, or any physical activity it makes it worse. Rest rest rest and follow doctors orders. I know its hard to lay around for weeks, but if you don't you might tear something inside. Take your pain meds like you should, don't let the pain get to bad before you take them.
