For those whom had a particle hysterectomy did you had to come back to make it a complete htsterectomy?


Just wanting to know because i figure years later i will need to come back to complete what should had been done at first. One friend claim i sure have a complete one and another claim she only had particle but it only been 6months for her. Any suggestion from anyone that really knows.

If you mean by a partial hysterectomy that the ovaries were left in place, there is usually no need to go back for further surgery.

The ovaries are usually left when a woman has not yet reached menopause and the ovaries are still manufacturing hormones.

The only reason to have further surgery to remove the ovaries would be if a problem developed with the ovaries themselves. This is very rare.
I have had one and I say that I am keeping mine the way they did it for now if you have your ovaries removed you will loose Estrogen and you may have to take pills (estrogen) pills to get that natural hormone back other wise you will go into a promenades state. I would not have it done, you do not need to unless there is a problem with the ovaries later. I have had two ectopic pregnancies since I have had it done and that was the only time that I have had to go back to the Dr. regarding the matter of the uterus. It's been 4 years so far and I have not had any estrogen loss and am good to go for another 20 years.
Wife and mother of four, had it done but regret it now I gave up the right to have more kids, I did it bcause I was bleeding alot and they cold not stop it. At the time I was 25 and had three kids it was all I wanted. Now I am 30 and want more kids BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR..
