Hello im 32 an going to have a full abdominal hysterectomy and scared out of my mind anyone with info ?

any women my age have it done and what can i expect?very scared

Six weeks for basic recovery. No lifting.

Longer term, go easy with heavy lifting. With no ovaries you'll probably be offered hrt for a time. Not the best thing long term, though, but stopping it and allowing your body to move to a testosterone-dominant balance is actually quite good -- you feel much more a "can do" person.
I had one about nine years ago at age 39. It's probably more scary than anything. I know time fades memories, but I don't remember it being that bad. The first couple of days I was pretty sore, but after that, it wasn't too bad. You're young and will most likely recover quickly. Just make sure you follow the doctor's orders - don't overdo things, even though you may feel great after the first couple of days. Contrary to what the doctor's say, however, I found I DID lose vaginal lubrication. Don't fight it -- get yourself some topical lubrication. :) And if you have questions or concerns? Don't be afraid to ask.
i had one at 29. the first few days i was pretty sore and i had a lot of gas from the surgery still inside me. i had my mom fly in to help with my daughter but by the 2nd week i was up doing everything myself. take it slow and allow yourself time to heal, as everyone heals at a different speed. they had me up walking the day after surgery which i hated them for at the time, but it was actually the best thing to help me heal. they will give you pain meds to help afterward. i was only in the hospital for 2 days. it will be ok. good luck to you!
A hysterectomy at 32 is really radical unless it's because of cancer. Two thirds of these surgeries are done unnecessarily. If you have fibroids or problems with your periods, there are far less drastic treatments. This surgery will put you into an early menopause which is Hell. This is elective surgery and you have time and options. You can't put your uterus and ovaries back. Don't let any doc bully you or scare you into this surgery.
I had one at 31, best thing ever. please listen to the doctor and take it easy afterwards. even if you feel fine and feel like you can do anything. your body has had major surgery and needs time to heal inside.
You don't state the reasons that you are having the hysterectomy, but I do hope you got a second opinion. When I was about your age, my gyn said I needed one also (because of heavy bleeding). I got a second opinion....that doctor said there was no need for a hysterectomy. I had a uterine ablasion, it took care of all the problems I was having. Please be sure to get a second opinion if you haven't already.
