Why do some women have hysterectomies?

Fibroids, tumours, endometriosis, pelvic congestion, precancer, cancer, birth control ... lots of reasons. Painful periods. Some women have partial hysterectomies, some have whole hysterectomies (where they take the ovaries too); reasons for this vary as well.
Fibroid tumors, (pre)cancer, endometriosis, excessive bleeding, etc., etc.
If they have really heavy, painful periods, or if they know for sure they never want to have children.
Pre-cancerous conditions, enlarged uterus, tumors, unresolved bleeding issues. Many reasons.
normally because cancer or a pre-cancerous condition found by pap smear.
