Is there a new for women to get when periods are bad. Instead of getting hysterectomy? |
Periods are long and painfull. Don't want hysterectomy just want no more periods. There are medications that will completely stop your period all together. You have to take it everyday, like the birth control pill...but you wont get a period. I was on it for awhile when I was younger, for the same reason. And after a few months they took me off...and my periods came back regular as can be..both in length and no pain. Talk to your doctor sweetie. If he doesnt want to try this route..I would suggest talking to another doctor. Surgery is permanet...where as a pill is temp. Sounds like you have fibroid tumor(s). They are not life threatening, but they sure as heck make your life miserable. There are several treatments available from pills to shots to laser surgery to corrective surgery (myomectomy). Much depends upon whether or not you have had all the children you want to have. In any case, if the best your doctor can suggest is a hysterectomy, run - don't walk - to another doctor. Your best bet is to find a gynecologist at a teaching hospital. Now adays, a hysterectomy is for one thing only - cancer. And fibroids are NOT cancer! http://www.fibroids.com/ well i;m sorry to tell you, but getting a hysterctomy is the only way , surgically that is. there's something out there that doctors insert in your gina, and it's stays in there for up to two years. i saw it on a commercial.you'll just have to talk to your doc about it, i'm sure he knows. hope this helps. |
