Had a hysterectomy & ovaires out @ 35 I went through menpause then, can it be happening again now that I'm 48? yes, especially if you are taking any kind of estrogen. I also had a total hysterectomy, they took my ovaries, tubes, uterus, and cervix. I took the estrogen, but it didn't help at all. So I stopped taking it altogether, and I am almost done with this menopause stuff. I had the hysterectomy in 2002, and I was 40 years old. As long as you are taking any estrogen, you won't ever get completely through menopause until your body no longer makes the hormones, whether they are naturally occuring or manually ingested. I, too, had all of my plumbing removed (at 32). I've been on hormone replacement ever since, and I still had some mild menopausal symptoms within a year of that surgery. I'm now 44, and I'm having perimenopausal symptoms.....night sweats, occasional flushing, headaches. If your symptoms are becoming a problem for you, go to your physician because there may be something you can do/take to alleviate those symptoms. I've learned that even though my ovaries are gone, gone, gone ...my body knew to give me chemical signals at a more age-appropriate time. Unfortunately. Beats getting a swift kick in the a$.$ any day, though. Best of everything! |
