Can I make a pooping chair for my son. He is 5 years old with fecal incontinence and can't usually make it...

...to the potty in time. I said he has fecal incontinence and he has been diagnosed by the doctor, but there isn't really anything you can do about it. With fecal incontinence, (I have it also) you will feel the urge to poop, then it will come out right away. He wears pullups most of the time, but he hates having his diaper changed as he is already five years old. If he had a chair, that wasn't a "potty training chair," he could sit at home, with me, and watch T.V. and go poop, because his fecal incontinence does not allow him enough time to run to the potty. I want to help him feel like he is a big boy, so please help me.

As there are chairs like this for adults, research whether there are already child-size ones available (call hospital or a pharmacy for information). If you can't afford to purchase one, viewing it may help you figure out a design you can manage to create.
Best wishes.

This is an emergency portable potty. Maybe something like this...

Here's a page that I found all about fecal incontinence. There's also a link to a portable potty chair on the page. http://pottytrainingsolutions.com/articl...

Possibly consider also checking into camping/rv supply stores. They have portable toilets that are small/compact and are easier to clean up and keep discreet. It'd be easier to deal with and down on his level without being a training potty.

please excuse me if this doesnt help, but is he having difficulty/failure to hold his bowels to get to a toilet? if this is so he be trained to use his muscles to hold it.
i was thinking if you know what time or how regular he goes everyday, can you sit him on the toilet before he gets the urge so he can go straight away?
if he goes around 8am for example, just sit him on the toilet around 7.50am, he needs the toilet even before hes ready and wait until hes done.
im not sure making a potty chair, since its not really training his bowels at all.
he can also have is a commode chair in the close proximity that he needs when he ever first recognises and urge and open the commode to sit on it!
there are 2 sphincters and if he can register the first one inside the rectum that gets filled but doesnt register the 2nd once in which to hold the contense from the anus then he has a good chance of training his bowel and getting the timing right.
