What can I do about my dogs incontinence? |
I have a 10 year old Rottweiler, and she's been slightly incontinent since we got her last year, but lately it's gotten so bad that whenever she lays down she urinates. Is there anything I can do for her to make her stop? Are there medications out there that can help strengthen her bladder? Could this be caused by something more serious? I didn't give you the thumbs down, just to let ya know, silvia =) I would definitely take her to the vet to see if there are meds to help. In the mean time, i think there are "doggy diapers"... seen them at petsmart. I figured those were for dogs in heat and those dogs that are incontinent. have you had her checked by your vet to make sure its not a medical issue such as a uti or bladder cancer? my first thought is kidney disease i'd ask a vet to do a full blood panal. But I also know incontinence is normal without any other disease too. OK. It's probably a UTI. yep dags, puppy's all animals can get it. this is how she gets it is , being she is a female they get it really easy because when they have to go pee they squat lower to the ground which picks up dirt and such.which causes infections in the (pee hole) lol well any way I breed saint Bernard's this has happened be for. She dose need to go to vet they will more then likely give her CLAVAMOX.. for her weight go up.But in the mean time You could give her cranberry juice yep. it really dose work give her 1 shot glass full 2 times a day should clear up in a week. I would probly try this first .. and then in a week if it dont seem to be better call a vet..I would say she is in a Lil bit of pain just like if you where to have a UTI.. just more like uncomfortable. give the vet a call tell him whats going on. And you was told it could be a Balder infection. they tell him that CLAVAMOX. is what was recommend..all vets are different though.. GOOD LUCK to YOU and you pooch.. |

I strongly suggest you talk about this with your doctor. Write your questions down on paper and get them answered and be sure to thoroughly discuss both your surgical and nonsurgical options. ...Odd that the vet checked her out and didn't give you some advise or tips for 'serior' life. Just to check in, are the bowels 'normal'? I ask because there are many reason... get another opinion ...There are so many herbs that will help you with this. I am sending you a website url that lists many things along with herbs to help you out with this problem. www.healthandage.com/html/res/com... ooh i dont know much about that, i would check with stores online to see if they have any, then you can just have them sent to your house. but if not, then yea i'd send your hubby..if its that... Sadly, one of the things that is rarely mentioned is the fact that early spay/neuter can cause incontinence. Your vet will check for infection and if there is none, may recommend a drug to tigh... ... |
