Can urinary incontinence be caused by scoliosis, kyphosis, and/or spinal stenosis in an adult female? Spinal stenosis may cause diverse problems in the lower body, including low back pain, pain or numbness in the legs, constipation and urinary incontinence. http://www.arthritis.org/resources/arthr... I was unable to find anything about scoliosis and urinary incontinence. It depends on whether the right nerve is affected. Talk to the doctor. Our bladder is innervated by nerves originating in the spinal cord. Damage to the spinal column (the bone) like scoliosis, kyphosis, if severe enough can possibly damage the organs innervated by the nerves distal (downstream) from the damaged area. Of the three, spinal stenosis is the one most likely to cause urinary incontinence. If that is the cause, it is very difficult to treat. Best wishes and good luck! |
