Even after 6months of cath removal after prostactomy,i m havin urinary incontinence,plz help? Complications of prostatectomy include urinary incontinence (about 5 to 10%), bladder neck contracture or urethral stricture (about 7 to 20%), erectile dysfunction (about 30 to 100%鈥攈eavily dependent on age and current function), and fecal incontinence (1 to 2%). It may be you'll need re-cathing. This is not a very complicated condition. A Urologist will set it right by medication only. Have you been seeing a continence nurse since the op? They are specialists in this sort of thing and can give you exersizes to do. If the nurse suspects it may be more than just a routine post-op thing she will refer you back to the doctors for investigations. |
