After resection of the prostate surgery, is it normal to have temporary incontinence? If so, for how long? Yes, this can be a problem, and it may not be temporary. Allow at least a month of healing before being too concerned, and seek your doctors advice if it continues after that. Yes, times vary for different people, could be weeks or months. Ask your Doctor. Yes, it may not be "temporary". What type of surgery did you have? My husband had the laser mini-surgery to remove his entire prostate and he was not incontinent at all; even immediately post op. Doctors usually don't want to admit a patient may be incontinent after prostate surgery. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/... http://health.yahoo.com/ency/healthwise/... |
