Infertility in females?

I recently heard that flaxseed causes infertility in bitches? Does anyone have more information on it? This is extremely annoying considering most quality dog foods have flaxseed in it, and the suppliment I use, also does.

Then again, I don't breed my dogs, so it wouldn't matter even if it did.

But I truly have never heard that. Maybe you could give your vet a call and ask them to be certain.

Yes, I've heard this also.

Just one of the many reasons I feed a primarily raw diet.

Edit: Don't have time to research it at the moment, but in humans flaxseed is often part of a holistic treatment for menopause symptoms as it helps regulate the release of progesterone and prostaglandins.... neither of which you want to mess with while attempting to support a pregnancy.
