Help with explaining infertility? Also clomid information.? |
We have been trying to conceive now for about 10 months. I am devastated and I know that it bothers my fiance too, but i think what bothers him more is the fact that i'm so upset about it. How can I explain to him how I feel so that he can understand why this is so important to me. He tries to comfort me but he always feels like he is inadequate because it doesn't help. i try and explain my feelings and that i'm going to worry regardless. Please serious answers only! I try not to freak out in front of my husband anymore. He thinks I'm saying it's his fault becase he blames himself. I'm not though. I won't say men don't understand becasue I'm pretty sure they do. But it seems so hard to explain it; why it's soooo important to have a baby. BUt the good thing here is that he TRIES; he wants to help you and comfort you. Just try to put it into words for him. If you can't do it while you're in the middle of the BFN, do it later. Write it in a letter for him if you have to. Then he can read your words and you can talk it out after. Oh, and go ahead and also explain to him how when you do finally get PG, ***fingers crossed, baby dust, sending up a prayer for you***, you're going to worry about the baby too!!! A few things... a perfectly healthy couple only has a 12% chance of conceiving each month, which is why doctors generally tell you to try for at least a year before you seek infertility treatment. One thing that can greatly increase your chance is an ovulation monitoring kit (they have them at any drug store, Target, etc.) because you will be able to have sex right when you are ovulating, which will help. And as for Chlomid, yes - it is covered by almost all insurance companies. In fact, most insurance companies cover most infertility treatments (including insemination but not IVF). Good luck :) tell him that this is really important to you. Best of luck on this, as I've heard it takes an average couple around a year to conceive. Have you been charting? If not, maybe you should start. It might help. I also read on a message board on ivillage that you can get a clomid (probably a generic, but not sure) at Wal-Mart for $9. Some insurances cover it, and it is $50 dollars for the prescription. Check out your insurance policy or call them tomorrow and see if it is covered! Best of luck! I know how you feel just try and relax a bit and maybe it will happen. I take clomid and my insurance covers some part of it but i still have to pay $40.00 out of my pocket, I can't tell you for sure if it works but i'm hoping it does. Good luck and lots of baby dust. i can relate to your situation; it's been 12 months for us with 2 early miscarriages/chemical pregnancies under my belt. i'm at the point where i've decided to see a licensed naturopathic physician who specializes in women's reproductive issues. she has restored my hope and faith in the whole TTC ordeal and best of all she's given me some proactive steps TTC in terms of my diet and ruling out thyroid problems. i still have regular health insurance and when i get pregnant, i'll use that for OB, but i'm really fed up with ob/gyn's who are insensitive, uncaring, and uneducated about the whole TTC ordeal. you should consider heading straight to the reproductive endocrinologist as well. most important: have your thyroid and hormones checked out. if your hormones are out of whack, it makes it that much more difficult to get pregnant. i hope you are charting your basal body temps on fertility friend b/c that arms you with invaluable information and insight. hang in there. don't give up. If you live in the USA, the only way to find out for sure what your insurance covers is to call their 800 number and ask them specifically. From my experience and reading on the web, a lot of insurance companies DO NOT cover any treatment (even not clomid and the tests to monitor it). So make sure you know what to expect before you decide what to do next. Good luck to you and your fiance! |
