Has hypothyroidism contributed to any infertility you have experienced?

It's very likely I have it (being tested now) and I want to have children soon.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the age of 18, I'm now 36. As long as the thyroxine medication is at the right level there is no problem with fertility. I managed to get pregnant after 2 months of trying at 36. I did miscarry but this was nothing to do with my thyroid disfunction. If indeed you have underactive thyroid it can take a couple of months to ascertain the correct level of medication but once this is established you should be fine. I'm fine, I take 100mcg daily and as thyroxine is a substance our bodies produce naturally the medication has no effect on an unborn child. Good news and good luck to you.

There is a good article on this at this link below.

it is really very helpful...when once the tyroid is treated and as long as the levels r normal, there is no hindrance for pregnancy unless other problems exists....Good luck
