Can untreated ovarian cysts cause infertility? |
I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts when I was 14 and I'm now 21. I had 6 cysts and they have been untreated and I have had at least 4 of them rupture. Now me and my husband are trying to get pregnant and so far have been unsucsessful. Either way, if you get cysts, you should probably be getting help conceiving. I'm not sure if untreated cysts would be impacting your fertility now- but if you continue to get cysts, you're probably not ovulating, especially if the cysts are from PCOS. Cysts can cause scar tissue on the ovaries, making it hard to conceive. You may just need a little help. I've always had cysts and am also having trouble conceiving. My doctor is going to start me on Clomid next month. My sister has severe endometriosis and PCOS and has always had cysts rupturing. She went on Clomid and had no trouble getting pregnant...twice! I have had cysts in the past and 4 months after having one removed during an appendicitis I got pregnant with my first. Now I'm trying to get pregnant again and having a very hard time. I have cysts that come and go and seem to have some discomfort in the lower area so maybe there back and that's my problem. They can stop ovulation making it harder to get pregnant. Hope this helps also my doc asked to go on clomid to see if that helps I'm thinking about trying it. |
