Should I help? Infertility in friend.? |
I have a dear friend, and we are both TTC, her more openly and fervently. She is having problems ovulating, and has been undergoing fertility treatments for some time. I have been her shoulder, and only recently told her that my DH and I are not preventing. In my quest I learned that her diet is probably at the base of her problem. She won't eat any veggies, eats fast carbs and a lot of animal protein. I want to help her, as she is concerned about the high $ of fertilty treatments. I know eating healthier and such would help her out both in getting pregnant and $wise. Little BG: She has poly-cysti, and a non-functioning tube. Her husband also chews incessantly which hurts her chances as well. i would find some info online about how diet and other things afffect fertility and give her the information. Let her read for herself or discuss the info you obtained. I agree with brbslp. I you get some documentation with evidence that eating the right things increase your chances of ttc she will be grateful. Especially since she really wants a baby. Just approach it with caution because if she is taking fertility drugs she is probably very hormonal. Which could turn out to be disastrous conversation if she takes it the wrong way tell her, tell her. be honest with her, shes a friend, friends can tell each other anything. you are only trying to help her, ring her tonight and tell her that healthy eating is very important. pig out now and again but not every day she probably hasn't told her doctor about her diet... You should definitely tell her.. She'd probably be really grateful for the advice.. |
