Infertility treatment vs Adoption?

I am doing a mock trial in which i have to fight for infertility against adoption... and I'm finding it hard to find many differences between the two. There are so many similarities: costs are on the high side, there is pain (emotional/physical), long waits, neither is guaranteed, there are financial programs availible, there are intrusive questions/processes.. etc.

Can anyone help me by giving me information on how they differ in some ways? I know there are differences in costs and in waitint periods most of the time (fluctuates depending on the situation), but anything else?? Thank you so much!

The mock trial is not merely based on this, but my expertise in the trial is in infertility treatments and I am going against someone who has adoption as an expertise.. :).. the case is ethics-based, but it is also based on a real court case where a husband and wife were both infertile and both carriers for cystic fibrosis and when the doctor found out, he cancelled the ICSI infertility treatment they were supposed to undergo saying that they weren't meant to have children (and WHY is he an infertility doctor???).. but we are advocating for the parents.

Many women are emotionally attached to the idea of having their own baby, carrying a pregnancy for 9 months and giving birth to their biological baby.

I find it interesting that you are having a mock trial for this topic since it is not politically driven at all.

A women is born to be a mother.
But each girl when they grow up dreams of being pregnant and giving birth.
This is possible through Infertility treatmens but not adoption.

Also adoption the child may be made fun of whilst growing up because they are different to their parents, then this would cause more heartache to a parent after the ordeal of finally getting a child.

The most philosophical obvious difference is the procreation / survival instinct (passing on one's gene for propagation of self). It is the most basic instinct and can be argued as a fundamental right - which cannot be duplicated with adoption.

Other differences don't matter as much.

infertility treatments- gives you the chace to have a child wilth your traits.
